How do memberships work?
Becoming a Genius Greens member unlocks a range
of benefits. Memberships can be for one year or
three-month intervals. The main benefits include
free shipping, special member exclusive items when
available, and invitations to any members-only events
that take place. Ongoing memberships also
allow us to get to know you and your preferences.
We’re able to make sure you receive an interesting variety
so you can try new things and avoid
orders becoming too repetitive. This factors into
our curation of your orders.
In addition, members become part of the thriving
“Farm-to-Table” community we are fostering for
likeminded people with an interest in healthy living,
supporting sustainable local farming, and gourmet quality
freshness and flavours.
How do I become a Member?
If you are not already a Member, the Become a Member
section is where you can sign up. Shop Now is
where you can browse our selection and
add any items to your order. If you are a Member and
signed in, you will see the Member’s Shop.
Any items you order after signing in as a Member
will have the free shipping applied.
Do I need to be a member to make an order?
You don’t need to be a member to buy.
To make an order as a non-member, simply
choose to “Continue as guest” when prompted.
How does a subscription work? What’s the difference between a subscription and a membership?
A Genius Greens membership involves
payment of a fixed rate that applies to a certain
time period (either one year or three months at a time).
Memberships include a range of benefits including
free shipping and more.
A subscription/subscriber refers to recurring
orders – pre-paid orders that repeat until cancelled.
Subscribers do not gain access to member benefits
(unless they become members).
Being a member and a subscriber are not
mutually exclusive. You can be either, or both.
Memberships include benefits and involvement in
the Genius Greens community. Subscriptions are
simply a convenient way to set up recurring orders.
I’m not sure what to order. Where do I start?
Many of our members start with Grower’s Choice,
a Vegetable Basket, and adjust their
future orders from there. You can add to it if you want
more at any time or even not take delivery any week
by simply letting us know the Friday
before the week of delivery.
Can I make changes to my orders?
Yes you can.
Just log in and click Account in the top right
corner of the banner, and then
view your order under My Subscriptions.
This is where you can add or remove items.
How do I select which type of lettuce to order?
Our aim is to make sure you enjoy the best variety
of lettuces, that work alone or in combination,
while also trying new varieties. We understand that
most people aren’t as obsessed with lettuce as we are,
and it can be a little overwhelming to keep track
of all the different kinds. But we really want you
to try the best of what we have!
That’s why we curate a variety of lettuce in
each set and any additional heads that you may order.
Over time, after you have experienced the wide range
of specialty lettuce that we are growing for our members,
you may want to let us know your preferences.
We will focus on those varieties in your subsequent orders.
Where does Genius Greens produce come from?
Our lettuces, herbs and microgreens are grown in
our aeroponic vertical farms in Hong Kong, using
our own proprietary system. Roots are
suspended in the air, rather than planted in soil,
and are nurtured with a nutrient mist.
This process allows for efficient use of space and
various other environmental benefits, including major
water conservation (80-90% less water than
soil-based farming). Find out more about our

Our vegetable baskets are curated from the best
selections available for the week from our
local organic growers cooperative.
Many are certified by the Hong Kong
Organic Farming Association,
which is now known as Sustainable Ecological
Ethical Development Foundation (SEED).
What kind of prep do I need to do when my greens arrive?
Just keep them chilled.
Refresh with water and give them a rinse.
Since our plants are delivered live with their roots
still intact, you essentially “harvest” right
before you eat for a “farm-to-table” experience.
Then just spin and serve.
How does Genius Greens choose which greens to include?
We select a mix that would make a nice
salad combination, while also including different varieties
for texture and colour. We want to let our members
enjoy a wide variety of lettuce over time –
so we try to give them different types each week/delivery.
With this objective in mind, we import over
20 varieties of non-GMO seeds, organic when
available, all with phytosanitary certificates
from our global seed company in the Netherlands.
Each week, we rotate different varieties to grow.
We test how each variety will grow in our
controlled environment that is maintained to
minimize energy and water, while meeting
our texture, taste and other quality standards.
What happens to unsold produce?
We grow and harvest weekly to meet
membership needs. Any unsold produce is donated
each week to Feeding Hong Kong,
which serves the needy and elderly.
It’s another part of our sustainability philosophy.

An account is not the same as a membership.
An account is a standard e-commerce requirement that
enables transactions to be made through our website.

as well as your subscriptions (recurring orders).
